Created as part of a ceramic composting and sustainability project, Ofrenda del Colibrí considers how a ceramic object can participate in cycles of growth rather than exist only as a permanent object. The hummingbird and ofrenda imagery connect the piece to remembrance and renewal, while its relationship to composting brings those ideas into a physical cycle of decomposition, nourishment, and new life.
