Hi, I’m Isabelle Carranza

Hi, I’m Isabelle Carranza, a multidisciplinary artist and educator based in San Francisco. My practice is rooted in ceramics and expands through sculpture, installation, community arts, and exhibition-making.

My work explores memory, ritual, migration, grief, intergenerational care, and the ways we carry the people and places that shape us. I often draw from family histories, cultural traditions, everyday objects, and personal memory, transforming them into pieces that hold stories of love, loss, resilience, and belonging.

Beyond my studio practice, I am deeply interested in the ways art can bring people together. My work extends into community-based arts programming, teaching, exhibition installation, and collaborative curatorial projects. I believe creative spaces can be places for connection, storytelling, experimentation, and joy.

At the heart of everything I make is a desire to preserve what might otherwise be forgotten—and to leave a little room for wonder along the way.
