My community-based art practice uses clay as a way to create space for connection, storytelling, cultural memory, and collective care. Through partnerships with schools, nonprofits, youth programs, and community organizations, I develop accessible ceramics experiences that encourage participants to learn new skills while connecting with one another.
Community Work

Latino Youth Services
Ceramics Workshop · 2026
I facilitated a handbuilding workshop for youth ages 13–20 and their case workers, creating a shared space for learning and connection through clay. Participants handbuilt vessels and other personal objects while learning foundational ceramic techniques. Some youth reflected on experiences from their home countries, including memories of making objects from wild clay gathered near their homes. These conversations allowed clay to become a way of exploring remembrance, place, and cultural connection.
Ceramic Instructor at Redbridge
Ceramics Instructor · April–June 2025 & 2026
I taught two eight-week introductory ceramics programs at Red Bridge, guiding students through the fundamentals of handbuilding with clay. Students began with pinch pots and learned essential skills such as slipping and scoring, attaching clay, and coil building before applying those techniques to their own projects. Lessons were structured to build skills progressively while giving students room for experimentation and individual creative choices. The program introduced ceramics through an accessible, hands-on approach centered on curiosity and making.
Palestine Legal
Community Ceramics Workshop · 2025
I facilitated a ceramics workshop for Palestinian lawyers, legal workers, and community members who came together from across the country, many of whom had never met before. Participants learned handbuilding techniques while creating planters, pots, and other functional ceramic forms. The workshop used the shared process of working with clay to encourage conversation and relationship-building. It offered participants an informal creative environment to connect outside of their professional and advocacy work.
Roadmap to Peace Workshop
Youth & Case Manager Ceramics Workshop · Instituto Familiar de la Raza · 2024–Present
In partnership with Roadmap to Peace, I facilitated a copalero-making workshop for youth and their case managers. Participants learned handbuilding techniques while creating their own ceramic copaleros, using the making process as an opportunity to work alongside one another. The workshop centered cultural connection, creativity, and relationship-building between youth and the people supporting them. Clay became a shared activity through which participants could talk, create, and build community.
